Cloud-based

platform for

Structural Monitoring

With WeStatiX custom structural digital twins can be created for
real time monitoring of existing structures in the cloud.
The system is based on the combination of several innovative digital
technologies: Development of a reliable 3D digital twin of the object, cloud-based visualization that enables virtual inspections, automatic execution of numerical FE simulations, continuous model calibration using inverse analysis, predictive analysis through artificial intelligence, BIM (Building information Modelling).

Machine Learning algorithms are based on “training data” (measurement data) and training machine learning models requires the analysis of a large amount of data (Big Data).

A New World

for Structural

Security

WeStatiX SHM enables to constantly monitor the structure, check anomalies, and optimize maintenance interventions for different kind of structures: bridges, rock walls, slopes, tunnels, dams, buildings, power plants.

Digital twin for bridge monitoring

WeStatiX SHM is applied to the continous monitoring of highway and railway bridges with great success.

Digital twin for monitoring of slope stability

Our system for inverse analysis calibration finds great application in geotechnics, especially for the monitoring of slope stability.

Digital twin for tunnel monitoring

Reliable tunnel digital twins can be built and synchronized with measurement data during and after the construction.

Why

AI?

Engineers know that the real structure behaviour is often difficult to predict during the planning phase. This happens for many reasons: human mistakes, tolerances, variants in progress, unexpected geotechnical behaviour, material properties, etc.
Thanks to artificial intelligence, the digital twin learns progressively: it is constantly calibrated to minimize the discrepancy between sensor data and simulation results, assessing the global behaviour of the structure at each point. Furthermore, by training advanced deep learning models, we obtain accurate forecasting of the future structural behaviour.

The digital twin

3D GUI

The user can perform virtual inspections of the object with the digital twin 3D GUI.
The digital twin graphical user interface, where you can visualize directly in the stresses, strains, displacements and utilization factor in any poitn of the structure.
This is possible thanks to the twin finite element model which takes into account the entire load history of the structure, including the sequence of construction steps, considering time dependent effects due to temperature, creep, shrinkage damage and aging.

The data analysis

dashboard

The dashboard allows the user to visualize all the data measured by the sensors and the results of the digital twin model, together with the results of the predictive analysis. This monitor has been designed to maximize the user experience in analyzing the provided data with elegant charts.

Automatic alarms and

report generation

For each measurement made, WeStatiX SHM allows the user to export a detailed technical report containing the measurements data, the results of the structural calculation, and an assessment of the current state of the object. An automatic alarm system is setup in case of exceeding of predefined thresholds, which are agreed with the customer.

Sensor’s installation > Data transfer to cloud > AI-based calibration > Digital twin update and simulation > Real time monitoring and AI-based predictive analysis

Many people talk about the digitalisation of infrastructures as a slow process to be undertaken in an unspecified future. With WeStatiX SHM this is already possible: the structure status is continuously analyzed, the predictive analysis through AI is very reliable and the data from the digital twin are made available in real time.

Dietmar ThomasethExecutive Director, TIQU

The continuous structural analysis performed by WeStatiX SHM is an excellent method to realistically predict the behavior of existing structures based on their current stress state.

The Cloud is the future: the advantages of using a platform like WeStatiX that allows you to create digital twins and analyse simulation results in the browser without installing any software are really enormous.
